Already miss Rome

I've been away for one week in Rome for a school trip, and I absolutely loved the town.
It was weird, because it felt like time just stopped while I was there ; as if I had been away for a whole month, walking through mountains and hills full of churches guarded by thousands of sculptures...

I wish I could go there by myself or just friends, because I love how there is history behind each art piece and wall of this city. Like how I met and fell in love with statues made by Le Bernin, of David, or Daphne and Apollo. And wanted to stay there forever contemplating them.

Good thing too is that I now want to read much more about Antiquity, greek and roman mythology. And also draw a lot more settings, use much more colors...!
The town was just so huge, that I felt like I became an ant in a city bigger than Paris - especially when going to the Vatican, which was the most beautiful temple dedicated to God that I've ever seen in my life. (well, I guess it's understandable why).

News are that I don't know if I can write longer entries than just this and a complete report on Roma, because I am now entering the most stressing and terrible student crunch time period for my finals and I will most likely not post anything life-related for a while. I even hope I can keep on drawing on a regular basis and be okay with my school work... and survive all of this.

So... brb, writing a 25 p-long memoir within less than 2 weeks... then all the rest of my creative projects for school and a second memoir 8I

Let's keep on fighting... right... ?

RIGHT !!! q(`Д´●)

Yes, writing "Meet Moto Hagio" #2 before the first one... because this one is actually shorter to write (●´Å`). I will link to the first report once I'll be done writing it. >__<

Today was the second time I've met Moto Hagio. I'm still sorry I couldn't talk with her directly ! ;_; This is not a complete report of everything she said today, since most of what she said was already mentioned in the conference (Meet Hagio Moto #1, still being written). But here we go :

I started sketching a fanart for her 30 min before catching the bus. Not a really good idea... Then I tried to rush the watercolour for it. *cries* Worst idea ever ! I ended up not having anything good to give her. orz

^ Mosaics above because it's... just too bad 8'|

Rest is under the cut.

Hi ! I am currently still on a semi-hiatus, but going better. I am trying to get back to a normal and organized life - since things will get much, much more intense and difficult for me on the two next months. (papers to write, memoirs, essays, finals, portfolio and CV to prepare, orals to pass, movies to realize... the list could go on forever).

So... news are that I can't keep up on any comics/webcomics right now, I'm afraid. (*´Д` ;)

I have to put Time Killers under an undetermined hiatus - which sucks, since it had just started - but from that very short experience I've learned things (that there are both good and bad sides to have a fresh project weekly written and drawn ; good (?) side is that you are under pressure and have to work in the instant, but bad sides are that you have no place for doubt nor enough time for planning, and you can't afford to have a busy student life on the side... >__<;)

But ! Rest assured, Time Killers won't be dead so soon though. Even if I can't physically draw it, I will keep on developing the universe - along with my other major project Paperplane - and as a sideproject, it helps me to experiment more... except that I can't let it stress me more than I am already ! I hope you will still look forward to it when it will be back and the comic (and my life) will be going less erratically. u__u

Thank you for understanding and still following me through those bad phases, always. I'm so sorry for being so sporadic on updates and all ! I must find my path and pace.

I feel like I'm on the right way.
Just need a little of your patience !

Whew, finally found the time to post something here.

More three weeks before my brother comes back from Canada to Paris ! yayyy
He will also give me his laptop, mine is actually dying (the battery is dead, I had a hard time making it run.. ahem) wow I have such unluck with computers """OTL
But hopefully then, I will have Windows 7, the programs I need to study, working sound (yes currently I have no sound on the computer, on top of recurring random shutdowns...) SO... LET'S BE POSITIVE ! My new challenge will then be to finish all my commissions and stuff before the end of the year. And get a fresh start at drawing, reading, doing "animation" and comics. ( è___é)9

Alright, let's see now...

Some pictures I have taken back in October, and that I forgot to post. It was still sunny, I like the colors of fall. This year, we were blessed with an "indian summer" within fall : it was so hot and nice ^3^

1- View from my bathroom at 6am

2- Somewhere next to the Bercy Park in Paris, there was an anatomy manikin in the middle of the building, hahaha

3- Luxembourg Gardens at lunch. It's very nice to eat there... except when it's too cold. But still very nice !

4- A cultural library and place called la Gaîté Lyrique, free of access for young as elder people, directed to graphism/video games/internet/small animations. I love the design there, so refined. There are a bunch of weekly different old / new games that you can try freely. Huh-huh.

One very positive point this year, is that my school is located at a very beautiful place within Paris. It's not too far from the museums (Louvre, Orsay, etc) and I never get depressed from the train transport, unlike last year. That's how I realize how settings for your school can be really important and influence your everyday mood.

Now more recently, taken in November :

5- Vietnamese rice galets with um.. I don't know how it's called LOL BUT IT'S GOOD YUM

6- One day I was going to the figure drawing course, on the way I felt like taking pictures...

(I particularly like that last picture !! It was a café at the corner of the street, and the haussmanian buildings reflection above it... uuu sobs I love Paris so much)

* * * * *

I like taking pictures but I usually get lazy editing/posting them online because it takes time >:T

Next photolog post will contain a bunch of pictures I have taken at the Louvre.
Go go go guys ! Keep on fighting hard in those times of midterms and stuff !

Japan Expo...

*Huff huff* Why am I always so late at everything ? hahaha

It's been exactly three weeks since I've been attending Japan Expo (one day only this year), as a visitor and not an exhibitor.
It was fun but not as funny as I had expected ; I couldn't spend much time with my friends in the artist alley (and some were already gone on vacation) but I happily spent my money instead.... although now I'm broke*cough cough*. I didn't see (m)any japanese doujinshi circles, but that was to be expected with this year's events.

Some people might not be interested into reading the complete report, which is why I am posting this year's loot pictures first :

When I stepped by this artbooks stand, I merely spent all my money to get those three books OTL.... so what I got myself after were those very cute stickers (from Aranzi Aronzo)
Basically, everything they sold was really cute... but too pricey. 8__8

Never regretting the Tactics Ogre artbook though !!

I also got myself the two first volumes of Strobe Edge (by Sakisaka Io), which is one of my favourite shoujos. The panelling/pacing is very good, despite of the very beginning that some people would find "stereotyped" or weird. Past it, I really loved the scanlations' works, which made me discover and love this shoujo ; the french publisher and traduction, - with the typo for the title - didn't handle it well at all ; as a result, the work got sacrified (in my opinion) and the reading flow really suffered from the lack of french skills (and the will to make it look more professional by pulling dots after every each sentence, which just makes it the most unnatural ever).

In a few words, vocabulary mixed, (French being VERY subtile, you must use the right words in order to express the right things in the right context), lack of punctuation consistency literally ruined the work I've been so much looking forward to. To the point that I am myself considering to get the Japanese volumes...

But anyways, sorry for rambling over how a work got 'mis'published. It happens so much with even great works and make it appear dull that it irks and irritates me WAY TOO MUCH...

*HUFF*

Look at that poster kana offered me when I bought strobe edge : the most kitschy and glittering poster I've ever seen in my life ever

After that, I was litteraly broke and didn't get to buy much anything else...

Detailed report under the cut !!
